Everyone faces that winter boredom. We all know how it feels to be stuck at home with nothing to do or wondering what plans to make. Here’s a list of 10 things to do when you’re bored on a snowy day:

  1. Study for your classes, maybe it’s only for a couple minutes but even just a little extra review can help you out.
  2. Watch a new movie or read a new book: these are good ideas for those lazy snow days when it’s just too cold to go outside.
  3. Learn something new: the internet is full of useful and also not-so-useful information. Use this free time to your advantage and learn some new facts.
  4. Call a friend or family member you haven’t talked to in a while. Chances are catching up and chatting with someone you’re close to will make you both feel better.
  5. Go for a walk. I know it’s hard to get outside when it’s cold out but getting some exercise is good for you so bundle up and head outside for a stroll around the block.
  6. Be creative. Even if you’re not the most artistically inclined person, it can be fun to just sit down, relax and color or paint something. Maybe it’s just an “adult” coloring book or maybe it’s a canvas with some oil paints you haven’t gotten a chance to use yet.
  7. Cook something. Cooking is an important life skill you’re gonna need later on down the road so it won’t hurt to practice a little bit now.
  8. Learn a new instrument. Music can be a great way to unwind at the end of the day and picking up a new instrument is a great way to get your mind off of any stressors you may have.
  9. Go shopping. If the roads are safe and you can hit the stores, you could take this time to buy something for yourself.
  10. Clean. Now, of course, cleaning doesn’t sound like the most exciting to do but living in a cleaner, more organized space makes your life so much easier and also less stressful. It’s also a good idea to go through your belongings and donate anything that you don’t wear or use anymore.
